Fleming Island QB looks promising

As we all know, defense wins championships. However, to make it to the championship the offense has to put points on the board. With as much talent as the Northeast Florida region has in football, you can never get bored. These young student-athletes put their blood, sweat and tears into the game that we all know and love for various reasons. Some players use football as an escape from reality, as some kids are a lot less fortunate than others. Some players are so competitive to the point where they will accept nothing less than a chance at being able to put a state championship ring on their finger. All of these players would like to achieve the ultimate goal, which is earning a full athletic scholarship to a power 5 program. The week 2 player to receive the honors for the JEAG Sport Enny award has a high ceiling, a bright future and a very good chance to succeed at the collegiate level. That player is none other than Fleming Island sophomore Quarterback, Cibastion Broughton for his iconic performance  in the 51-20 victory against Tallahassee Rickards. The rising star added some juice in the trust column by completing 13 of 18 passes for 310 yards, 4 passing touchdowns and rushing for 56 yards on 5 carries and a rushing touchdown. Broughton shows great poise while in the pocket, has sensational accuracy and excellent ability to extend drives with his legs. Obviously, as the starting Quarterback he plays a major role in the offense. However, with all the attention that  their star running back Sam Singleton is getting, it’s good for the coaches to be able to trust that Broughton can answer the bell when his number is called. This kid is going to be a joy to watch as he comes out of his shell.
